In God We Trust-- or Do We?

I want to talk about an obvious sign of wisdom - and yet, it is overlooked even by Christians. When I say the phrase, "In God we trust," what do you think of? As Americans, we probably immediately think of our country's national motto that is imprinted on all United States currency and coin..

What about the obvious examples we can cite of those who do not trust in God. There are atheists who are citizens, and they deny that there is any evidence that anything ever existed that was not part of the natural world. They say that in all the time that humans have investigated deities, absolutely no credible, reliable, reasonable, or even plausible, evidence for a God has made itself known.

There are also agnostics too, who say, "I don't know anything about God, and based upon my investigation, neither do you." These groups are growing in numbers, and they openly war against the slogan, "In God We Trust," on the basis that it disenfranchises (deprives them of their rights) as American citizens.

Even knowing that, I feel that they could not be considered the most serious threat to this country being known as the nation whose trust is in God.

I think the most serious threat comes from people who claim to have put their trust in God and yet live their daily lives as though their trust was anywhere, and everywhere, else.

PUT YOUR TRUST IN GOD
POINT 1. WHEN THINGS HAPPEN THAT YOU JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND
In other words, when life takes an unexpected turn, you don't have to understand everything that's happening. When things happen that you don't understand, that is when you need to put your trust in God.

PUT YOUR TRUST IN GOD
POINT 2. WHEN YOU ARE FACED WITH A DECISION (VERSE 6)
You have to acknowledge God in all areas of your life. The way you manage the different areas of your life comes down to the kind of decisions you make.

PUT YOUR TRUST IN GOD
POINT 3. WHEN THE FUTURE SEEMS UNCERTAIN (VERSE 6 )
Sometimes the future doesn't seem bright at all; it seems cold and dreary. This is the time to trust in God.
