Scripture Text: I Corinthians 12:18 1
18 "But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him."
You, ARE Making a Difference
Everybody is making a difference. The question is not are you making a difference, but rather "what kind of a difference are you making." If you are a believer, you are called to make a difference for Jesus Christ who is our commanding officer.
God has equipped us with different talents and abilities, not for us to shine as stars, but to make a difference for Jesus Christ. We are to be Jesus' Mighty Men, Mighty Women or Mighty Youth.
We have studied Spiritual Gifts. Perhaps we need to take a test to find out what our spiritual gifts are. Some of you would discover your gifts, and others of you would confirmed what you already believed were true. The word of God makes it clear, that you were given a spiritual gift by God, to make a difference in the body of Christ.
If you do not use the spiritual gift God has given you, for the building of the church, you will get bored and disillusioned with the church. You will be making a difference, but it will NOT be a positive one for Christ.
Spiritual maturity is NOT determined by how well we use our gifts. Spiritual maturity is based on how much we allow the word of God to shape our attitudes, our actions, our behaviors, and our willingness to serve in the life of the church. Using our spiritual gifts is evidence that we are willing to make a difference for the cause of Christ. Our spiritual maturity requires that we use our spiritual gifts, otherwise we will become stagnant and turn into complainers. Show me a person who constantly complains in the church, and I will show you someone who is not actively using his or her spiritual gift.
I'm not sure why God made me/me, or why God made you/you, but I do know God intended for me to be me in the body and God intended for you to be you in the body. I also know that God intended for both of us to make a difference.
My choice is to accept it or to get a serious attitude problem.
God has no intention of treating us the same in the church. He made us different for a purpose. It says in 1 Corinthians 12:17-18 "If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be. 18 But in fact God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be." That means you can't keep yourself, gift to yourself.
You have an obligation to God and to the rest of the body to be actively using your gift to make a difference for the cause of Christ.
God gave you what you have, because nobody can do your job exactly as He wanted you to do it.
Your spiritual gift has qualified you to be a starter on God’s team.
Let's all get out of the pews, get into the game, and win it for the cause of Christ. You are Making a Difference.
