Matthew 6:33; 2 Chronicles 16:9
Scripture Text: Daniel 6:1-10
1 It pleased Darius to appoint 120 princes to rule throughout the kingdom,
2 with three administrators over them, one of whom was Daniel. The princes were made accountable to them so that the king might not suffer loss.
3 Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the princes by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.
4 At this, the administrators and the princes tried to find grounds for charges against Daniel in his conduct of government affairs, but they were unable to do so. They could find no corruption in him, because he was trustworthy and neither corrupt nor negligent.
The Importance of Prayer
Summary: God wanted Daniel in the lion's den and rewarded him for his faithfulness. Daniel believed prayer was more important than his work. He cared more about what God thought than what people did.
WANTED: Men/Women of God (with courage)
God needs men/women of courage and guts in this hour, who will stand up against ungodliness in all its forms and declare the truth fearlessly, whatever the outcome might be. God needs men like Daniel who are fearless.
Point I. PRAYER: The Secret of Daniel's Power
What made him so great before people?
It's because he was great before his God - in prayer! Daniel was a "man of God was Daniel's lifeline. If Daniel pleased the King of Kings, he needn't worry about the King of the Medes. prayer."
Point II. THE PRIVILEGE OF PRAYER: A Capitol crime
Suppose a law was passed - "No praying during the month of June or you will face capital punishment!"
How many of you would pray publicly? Most would pray secretly!
PRECIOUSNESS OF PRAYER
Imagine there was only one place we could pray! Only one place where our prayers would be heard by God.
IF A LAW AGAINST PRAYER: Maybe a law against prayer would be good! Then people would do it more often!
Point III. Daniel's Decision
Did Daniel think things were "Out of Control?"
1. No! Does your situation seem out of control? It's not!
2. Quit fighting it physically. Pray harder. Beseech God to handle it.
Point IV. Daniel's Deliverance
1. Daniel was threatened with the Lion's Den, and he had to go into it.
