Scripture Text: I Corinthians 13:1-3
1. Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
What the World NEEDS now is LOVE
Sometimes it is hard for those who profess to be Christians to behave like Christians should. We try to carry our crosses, but if someone crosses us, we tend to lose our composure & behave in much the same way the rest of the world behaves. But the Bible teaches that we are to be people who exercise love in all of our relationships with one another.
THE IMPORTANCE OF LOVE IN OUR LIVES
"I want to show you the best way to take care of virtually every situation, & that is the way of love."
Point 1. Love is more important than Spiritual Gifts.
I Corinthians 13:1 "If I speak in the tongues of men & of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal."
Point 2 Love is more important than knowledge..
V-2 "If I have the gift of prophecy & can fathom all mysteries & all knowledge, ... but have not love, I am nothing."
Point 3 Love is more important than faith. .
I Corinthians "If I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing."
Point 4 Love is more important than generosity. .
I Corinthians 13:3 "If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing."
Point 5 Love is more important than accomplishments. .
"If I...surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing."
THE IMPORTANCE OF PRACTICING LOVE IN OUR EVERYDAY LIVES
John 13:34 "A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."
See how that would work in the family
It spills over into the church family & into the world
Let that love flow into the workplace.
Remember, God is LOVE - Perfect LOVE cast out ALL fear!!
