Scripture Reading: John 6:1-14

Scripture Text: John 6:13

"Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over by those who had eaten."

When the Mountain Looks Too Big

Sometimes we lose heart when the circumstances seems too great and vast, but we need to see and trust from God's perspective and learn to rely on His bigger than life view of the situation.
George Mueller, speaking of the obstacles in the Christian's life, said, "I say -- and say it deliberately -- trials, obstacles, difficulties, and sometimes defeats, are the very food of faith."
Sometimes we see mountains and multitudes and think, "How can this ever work out?" or "I just don't see a good solution to this."
This is what the disciples were thinking, but they didn't see the bigger picture. They didn't see the greater lesson that Christ was trying to teach them.
Sometimes, we miss the greater message on account of the mountain or the multitude.

We need to pay very close attention.

I. God's Outlook Concerning Life's Mountains:
A. God is never overwhelmed by circumstances..
B . God does a lot with a little.
With God, it is not about size or strength or ability but being yielded and available - Zechariah 4:6 - "Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit," says the LORD of hosts.
C . God sees beyond the mountain: We are of finite (limited) ability.
D . Lessons learned on the mountain are of eternal value

II. Our Obligations Concerning Life"s Mountains
A. Attitude
B. Faith: "Faith is the ability to trust what we cannot see, and with faith we are freed from the flimsy enclosures of life that only fear allows to entrap us." John Emmons
C. Confidence
D. Commitment .

Conclusion:
(Unsaved)
Has there ever been a time in your life when you admitted you were a sinner and trusted Jesus Christ as personal Savior? If not, today is the day of salvation.
(Christian)
Today is the day to change all that and make the decision to see things from God's perspective and let Him have control. .
