Stale or Fresh

Introduction:
The second law of thermodynamics is this: Everything tends towards disorder. "left to itself, an isolated system tends toward a state of maximum disorder'
Left on their own, isolated from outside influence, things tend to get worse, not better.

Point I. Everything in our lives, left unattended, will eventually fall apart and disintegrate!
A.) Your body will fall apart if you don't take care of it!
B.) Your home
If you don't check for termites on a regular basis, you might find your house falling down around your ears!
C.) Your car
If you don't take that car in for an oil change the engine will eventually seize up on you.
D.) Your yard!
Thanks to our Father, Adam, we now have to work the soil!
E.) Your marriage!

Point II. The most important thing we must guard against: Deterioration in our walk with God.
Salvation is a journey! And I must work at staying saved, I must maintain that salvation! .

Point III. The Psalmist states a very powerful truth in our passage--That is the NEED for Freshness.
a.) David speaks often in the Psalms of his need for today's oil for today, not yesterday's oil for today!
b.) The manna was supposed to be gathered daily, enough only for that day. Only on the eve of the Sabbath were they to gather enough for the next day.
c.) Jesus said in the Lord's prayer, Matthew 6:11 "Give us this day our daily bread."
d.) In Luke 9:23 he goes on to say, "And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me."
e.) The Apostles understood the need for daily dedication!

Point IV. The Danger we face when we fail to renew daily is losing Jesus
It's time to put the hunger and passion back in our walk and take a look at the little things in our spiritual walk. Don't let the devil keep hindering us from getting our Spiritual Revelation.
