Scripture Text: I Timothy 2:1-6

1 “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

Freedom has always come to us at a price. There are always forces in the world who want to take away the God ordained freedom that every person on this planet should be able to enjoy.
• We enjoy freedoms that a lot of the world can only look upon with envy.
• We live in a great nation. There are many folks who live here that do not seem to appreciate what we have.
• People have fought and died for what we enjoy today. What did those who died fight for?
• We owe it to those who have sacrificed and died for our freedom to keep the nation strong.
• As a nation, we are traveling down a road that can lead to the loss of what God has blessed us with and what people have fought and died for.
Even though there are a lot of negative things about America I still believe that America is the greatest country in the world. We are blessed to have been born and/or raised in America.
Someone has said, "We keep asking God to bless America. He already has. Now it’s our turn."
It is our turn to bless America. It is our turn to do something good for America. God has and still is blessing America. But we need to do our part to bless America! We can do many good things. We can be good citizens, vote, be patriotic, salute the flag, sing the national anthem, show courtesy to all people and especially, the elderly, obey the laws, pay our taxes, respect the law and its leaders.

The apostle Paul gives us some specific things we can do to bless America. They are:

1- We must pray unceasingly (vs.1-2)
We must pray. We must pray for everyone who means anything at all to us and for some who don’t mean anything to us. We must pray for our mates, for our children, for our family members, for our ministers, for our church members, for our church leaders, and for our country’s leaders.

2- We must live righteously (v.2)
We can be pretty good people at church most of the time, but God is very much interested in how we act and react outside the church. If we want to change America for the better and all people for the better, we must live righteously or holy lives but without presenting a "holier-than-thou" image. We must kill the "beast" within us.

3- We must evangelize fervently (vs. 3-4)
presenting some kind of witness for Christ with the idea that perhaps they will come to believe in Him, trust and obey Him and be saved. Evangelism or leading people to Christ is the job of every Christian! It matters not whether we are considered to be a "big gun" or a "little shot
